FROM IMAGINATION TO REALITY

Gun Metal Max was influenced by films such as ‘The Goonies’, ‘Toy Story’ and many more. But the core of the film focusses on the imagination of a child and the ability to always discover adventure. It’s with that direction that the character of Ben was created…

At 10 years old, all you want to do is play and explore. The idea behind our story was to find a way to merge both imagination and reality. Blurring the lines between what’s real and what isn’t. How could we bring the character of Gun Metal Max to life in a world that obeyed basic principles?

To begin with, we built a framework to the world that Ben comes from which was no different to our own. Within that world, we had to choose one fundamental difference that not only gave us Gun Metal Max, but access to his world as well…

The concept of alternate dimensions is no new idea by any means, it simply gave us the ability to cross both stories and force them together. This would be the foundation of our the story and would enable us to create an exciting adventure…

My first memories, were of heat and steam as my metal shell cooled...
